100 Years of the Gunnersbury Park Garden Estate
Residents of the Gunnersbury Park Garden Estate took to the street to celebrate the centenary of their estate with the Gunnersbury Triangle club at the heart of the action.
The centenary went off with a woof of approval from all our doggy competitors with the top Prize from Creature comforts of a year's subscription to their veterinary practice going to Lee Wright and Rocky! MP Andy Slaughter gave the opening speech. Drop-in sessions were organised with the tennis, Snooker and Table tennis sections. The Mayor of Hounslow, Amy Croft, gave the opening speech and joined in the festivities to mark the occasion.
Bands played all day on a specially erected stage on the street behind the club with stalls featuring Thai, Caribbean, Art, clothing, face painting, etc. Games to entertain adults and children alike were provided by MashUp productions and our dino bouncy castle kept the kids busy during the afternoon. Our resident caterers, Ebisu, brought a Japanese flavour to the club and hot dogs were served at the end of the day.
The hugely popular dog show, sponsored by Creature Comforts, featured a broad range of pets and prizes and there was a roaring trade at the bar, with music from Robert and Paul and talented photographer, Ewa, took stunning portraits of everyone's pooches.
All in all, everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It was a truly a centenary day to remember!
